Lenka

This is Lenka.

Lenka

Lenka sits on my printer, perched on a small green cushion, and peers at me over the top of my computer screen. Her hair is my very favorite part.

Lenka
Lenka is made of paper clay, her arms and legs are jointed using a very shoddy method of pipe cleaner hooks (oops, better next time). She was sanded until I got bored sanding (very quickly) and then painted with acrylic paints.

There are a lot of aspects to doll making that I need to slow down and do properly. But Lenka has character and that is one of the most important parts, I think.

::: List it Tuesday :::

I finally got my list made in time. Is it cheating to have written it the night before?

fav authors ::: list it tuesday

This list reminds me of two things:

1. I am not the least bit hip. These authors are way too prominent for that. But I really do love them all.

2. My reading habits have severely deteriorated. I used to have my nose in a book every free second, now I never seem to have a free second. Must change that.

Which lead to this conclusiong: I must find some new favorite authors (to add to the list, these ones will never leave).

Suggestions?

Animal Walk

Animal Walk

New cutie cut-out animals for my shop! I get a kick out of making them all walk in a line, pointy little noses up, round little bellies sticking out. Arms and legs are jointed with paper fasteners (is that what they are actually called? how dull) and can swing back and forth, so these lucky creatures can not only walk, but sit and even dance!

Cam and the American Flag

We're kinda bummed about the election results around the country. I am trying to understand why people think the way they do, but frankly when it comes to politics I am just bewildered.

This drawing is pretty old. It's a blind contour drawing of C. in the living room back when his roommate had a flag hanging on the wall. The roommate took the flag along when he moved on, though the oversize Marilyn Monroe Chanel ad and the Scottish Gameskeeper stayed.

I like blind contour; it is hard not to peek, but the results are often surprisingly interesting.
