Monoprint

Does it sound arrogant if I say that this one reminds me somewhat of Kathe Kollwitz? I only say it because I am such an admirer of her work. I don't actually think I accomplished anything close to her in this piece, I don't think I have seen enough in my life for that. I just think I recognize a certain feeling in this one.

Salad Season

Aren't these colors amazing? I think this intensity of summer is why people stay in the north. That and we're crazy.

Rubber Stamping

A recent block print, very simple, cut from a rubber block and printed with plain red ink. A satisfying, yet simple project.

You know you are a Reader...

New print in my shop!

I hope you all had a lovely 4th of July weekend. We saw the big fireworks display in Burlington on Friday - Burlington does the show on the 3rd so all the other little towns can do their own 4th celebration. We walked down to the end of our street on Saturday evening and saw the fireworks from 3 or 4 other towns off in the distance, sprouting up over the treeline, with the little booms coming a few seconds later.

I love Smoothies

In a blender, put

  • about one cup frozen fruit, partially thawed
  • about one cup plain yogurt
  • about 1/2 cup orange juice or lemonade
  • a generous drizzle of honey

Blend until smooth. Pour into a tall glass. Garnish with cut strawberries that look like hearts.

    Enjoy!
