2/3 Married!

As of today, we are 2/3 married! The visit to City Hall was extremely confusing due to the absolute simplicity of getting married in Vermont.

We filled out our form, the clerk typed it up, we raised our right hands and swore the information was true, I worried that we were jumping the gun and were about to be pronounced married right there, especially after we signed the paper, said clerk assured us that this was not the case and gave us our certificate to be signed by our officiant, and we paid our fee. Tada!

Then I asked about name-changing. Apparently it just happens automatically? Whatever we choose to call ourselves after we are married is a go? I am suspicious. Cam assures me all will become clear...

If you want to change your name, you just need to bring a copy of your marriage license to the Social Security office. It's super easy. Just bring a book or something, because they're weirdly stringent on making you shut off your phone / any electronics.

Aha! Thank you. We were pretty sure there would be more to it, but the City Hall clerk was not giving any more info.

And Sonja, I am adding another name on. I didn't think I had enough before... Not sure I want to be called "Mrs." anything though!
